Born in 1984 in Kahramanmaraş, a small city in southern Türkiye, Ako, also known as ArAkNa, is a rapper who has been active in the Turkish underground rap scene since 2004. Due to his father's profession, his life was spent moving from place to place. At the age of 4.5, he moved to Ankara with his family. He lived there until his university years, and in 2000, he went to Istanbul on a scholarship to study English Business Administration at Doğuş University. A highly successful student, Ako returned to Ankara as soon as he received his diploma. He started making his own recordings in Istanbul and, after meeting Olympos Records, began producing higher quality work. After returning to Ankara, he became even more productive. In May 2005, he released the 3406 Project album with Pit10, Rahdan Frekans Kerim, and Yunus Emre. In January 2006, he released his first solo album, Venus Pleasures, consisting of beats made with 90s pop music samples. Also in 2006, after releasing the EPs Sahipsiz Trackler and Deja Vu, and collaborating with several underground MCs on albums, he began recording his own licensed album in early 2007.
