Barikat is a continuation of the Güneşin Çocukları (Children of the Sun) group, which was founded in Bursa in 1997 to popularize hip-hop and has carried out hundreds of projects in this context. Standing against drugs, environmental pollution, street children, economic injustice, hunger, poverty, and inequality, the group, in contrast to those who see hip-hop only as entertainment music, addresses social problems and their sources in their songs; human relationships, education, morality, family, national institutions, the impasses within them, contradictions, and double standards, painting a picture of a world composed of sharing, productive, and free individuals… Barikat was founded by Murat Pakten, Refleks, Yargi, and JönTürk, and DJ EmoN later joined them. They gave concerts in Marmaris at Raks Concert Hall, Uludag University Campus, in front of Zafer Plaza, Ihsaniye Market Place, Kültürpark Basketball Street, Demirtas International Kite Festival and at Bikana Bar with Nefret…
