Band Name: Hell Steps

The group consists of 5 people: Ulas, Ali, Tolga, Serkan, and Yalçin.

The group was formed in 1997. All the b-boys came together to form this group, although some left later. Currently, they are working as a five-member group.

Competitions participated in:

Istanbul “Doomsday”, Izmir “Makara Disco”, Samsun “Ince Su Parti”, Bursa, Adana, 2000 Battle of the Year, Ankara Inner Parties.

Group Objectives:

Establishing an agency and opening a studio, guiding the next generation, and doing more professional work.

Group's Opinions:

Turkish Rap isn't finding the recognition it deserves. There are too many people pretending to be MCs; you can't become an MC with just one verse. We want investment in this field in Turkey. There are two Break Dance schools in Ankara; one is at METU (Middle East Technical University) and is Türkiye's first university Break Dance group. Yalçin, a member of the group, is the founder of the METU group. The second school, the Philosophical Martial Arts Research, Development and Performing Arts Center, has just opened, and Yalçin is also an instructor there.

The group is having a party on October 28, 2001.

Group Members:

Ali Ozcan

Ali Özcan was born in Ankara in 1978. He started dancing in 1993. His circle of friends was the biggest influence on his start in breakdancing; the solidarity among breakdancers fascinated him. His views on Turkish rap are as follows: He believes there are unnecessary arguments and that quality shouldn't be lowered. Regarding those new to breakdancing, he thinks that many newcomers enter the scene just for the sake of it, that there are too many self-serving interests, and that those who want to pursue this need to find their own identity.

Serkan Sari

Serkan Sari, also known as Bonker, was born in Ankara in 1978. He started dancing in 1994. His passion for breakdancing led him to start. Regarding Turkish rap, he believes it's low-level and full of self-serving relationships, which he thinks is ruining it. His thoughts on beginners in breakdancing are that they need to work hard and shouldn't do it for the sake of the scene or for girls.

Tolga Toroman

Tolga Toroman, also known as Frank, was born in Ankara in 1979. He started dancing in 1994. He started breakdancing because his older brother (Timuçin Toroman, also known as Tuti) was involved in it, and he benefited greatly from his friends. His views on Turkish rap are as follows: He thinks it's low-level and the arguments are unnecessary, and he believes in unity. Regarding those new to breakdancing, he thinks they need to be determined and work hard. He says dance is an art.

Ulas Yildirim

Ulas Yildirim, also known as Shaggy, was born in Ankara in 1978. He started breakdancing in 1993. His reason for starting breakdancing was his circle of friends; he changed many groups before finally choosing Hell Steps. His views on Turkish Rap are as follows: He thinks it hasn't yet found its rightful place. Regarding breakdancing beginners, he believes that increasing participation in dance is good, but it's important not to give up. He argues that dance maturity should spread to everyone.

Yalcin Uyar

Yalçin Uyar, also known as Cozy, was born in Ankara in 1981. He started dancing in 1997. His reason for starting breakdancing was his circle of friends and the b-boys he watched on television. His views on Turkish rap are as follows: He believes that Turkish rap has found its true identity and that the problems in Türkiye are well-represented through underground music. Regarding those new to breakdancing, he thinks that there are too many imitators and that such types have no place among them; he believes that the work should be done properly.
