SND – When did you start rapping?

I started in the DeliKAN group (Apak) in 1998. C-NaM and Dj Kid Istanbul started actively this year. And Deniz has been actively involved in HipHop since 1999!

SND – Can you give us some information about your group?

The 5 Kari$ group was formed after the DeliKAN group disbanded. We consist of 2 MCs (Deniz and Apak), 1 DJ (Dj Kid Istanbul), and 1 vocalist (C-NaM). We've been active since 2001.
We have officially decided to continue under the name 5 Kari$.

SND – What is planned this year?

Honestly, this year is going to be very busy. I'm sure this applies not just to 5 Kari$, but to all HipHop groups. As you can see, this year will be album after album and sampler after sampler.
Samplers are being made. This is very promising and gratifying. It's the same for us. We participated in UDDY! Following that, we received proposals from Unde-R-AP Posse and Marmara Tek Yumruk projects.
It's here. We managed to finish the song for UDDY! with great effort. We'll also participate in Unde-R-AP Posse with 3 tracks plus an album song. And we'll participate in MTY with 1 track. 2 for Unde-R-AP.
We've finished the track. After all these projects, we want to start working on the album. (Deniz)

SND – What do you think of these projects? Can they be successful?

I answer yes twice and I'm sure! The interest shown in the projects and the successful groups participating, in my opinion, demonstrate the quality of the projects. At this time, it's already a good thing...
Presenting CDs is very difficult. This shows the level of Turkish Hip-Hop... I think all the projects will be useful! (C-NaM)

SND – What do you think is the state of Turkish hip-hop?

Now, since this question is on the agenda almost every day, we don't have much room for detailed answers. Everyone is saying what they want. But if you ask me, the situation is good. Not very good.
But it's good. I mean, after all the projects this year, we're on the right track to doing very well! The most important thing is to support and stand by us! (DJ-Kid Istanbul)

SND – Finally, what would you like to say?

All we want to say is this: This year is going to be a very important year! This year could be a turning point. So, lots of love to everyone, to those who listen to and support hip-hop, and to true friends!
