SnooP Ra: We have Inzibat here, one of the old guard of Antalya and one of the owners of the Antalya Hip-Hop Festival. Inzibat, hello, could you introduce yourself a little? Inzibat: I got acquainted with this culture in my elementary school years. I started writing lyrics in 2000, then I did recordings and things like that on my own, and my life changed when I met DJ Yeter in 2002, and the rest is history. SnooP Ra: Antalya is an important place for Türkiye, and the biggest festival in Türkiye is held there, but what are your thoughts on people's indifference? Inzibat: You've touched on a good point. We work so hard for the festival, but the support we get is very little. Similarly, I've worked hard to establish a hip-hop jam culture in Antalya, but either this environment doesn't deserve this much, or we're doing something wrong. Everyone thinks they know everything, everyone raps, but there's no support. I don't know where this is all going to end. SnooP Ra: Yes, I also have some complaints about this. Everyone does it, I don't say anything against that, but after making two songs and not getting any support, they quit rap. What are your thoughts? Military Police: Yes, absolutely. Those who do this job impulsively, out of a momentary whim, get eliminated. But those who truly love what they do always command respect. It's thanks to people like them that our community survives. SnooP Ra: Your new album is out and I think you're preparing another one, and you're going to shoot a music video for it. Can you tell us a little bit about the new album? Inzibat: I couldn't focus much on the last album. But hopefully, the new album will be more solid. There will be some great features again. Most of the beats will be from Beatstar, with DJ Yeter and Salvo (Özkan) also contributing beats. For the music video, we're thinking of some very original things; we'll shoot it in February, and I expect it to make a big impact. SnooP Ra: Antalya always does what suits it! Some people might not know South Side, could you give them some information? Inzibat: Thanks. Let me explain the South Side thing. South Side means the southern part of the city. Like West Side or East Side, it's a style in rap. Maybe we like this style so much because we're from the south. Also, İrfan-i Rap Son Nokta and I have a group called GüneyYakası (Southern Side) and we're trying to create things together. SnooP Ra: I think we missed something. Do you know if the music video will be shown on TV? There's MTV Türkiye now, and they broadcast rap music videos, right? Military Police: Of course. We will make efforts. But Yeter going to London to study seems like a disadvantage for us in this regard. Because she has always been our guide. Still, I know we will do our best. SnooP RA: Yes, Antalya will be looking for him for a while. I hope he returns to us as soon as he finishes school! Is he planning to make an album with a military police banderol? Or when will he release it, if not now? Military Police: Honestly, I don't want to make statements like some others, such as "I've reached an agreement with a company whose name I don't want to mention." I've received a couple of offers, but nothing has reached a serious stage yet. To be honest, I don't feel ready right now, but if the conditions are right when the time comes, it's definitely among my goals. I believe I'm one of the people who can do this job. SnooP Ra: Who do you collaborate with on a military event? What qualities should the people you collaborate with have? Inzibat: First of all, with people who have solid character and rap skills, of course. If there's friendship, there will always be collaborations. Many friends from Under are offering features, thankfully. I don't want to offend anyone, but I'll clarify this point through this question. The situation is complicated because we see that those who do features end up dissing each other two days later. So, first and foremost, friendships need to be strong. SnooP Ra: What are your thoughts on dissing? Some guys dissed you a while ago, and you responded. Military Police: Yes, unfortunately, dissing is very fashionable these days. I haven't dissed many people; we've just given the necessary response to those who needed it. And we will if necessary. But I think the exaggeration of these things is very bad; everything is better in moderation. SnooP Ra: Do you think fame and money will ruin Turkish rap? Do the opinions of listeners and creators change when they acquire these things? Military police: It depends on the person's character. Of course, those who do this job for fame or money are different. But as I said before, those who truly do this job from the heart always remain the same. We already see examples of this. SnooP Ra: You founded Roof Records! Can you give us some information about what you plan to do? Inzibat: Roof Records, founded by Son Nokta, is currently the highest quality rap studio in Antalya. I'm part of this family, along with Beatstar, İrfan-i Rap, and talented young friends like Palanga and Dramo, whom we'll introduce to you soon. But Son Nokta (Salvo, Nefer) and Beatstar are my brothers from whom I've always drawn strength on this journey. Above all, there's a very strong friendship within this family. And we'll always work together. Regarding upcoming albums from Roof Records, there will be a GüneYakası mixtape, and solo albums by Son Nokta, Salvo, Palanga, and myself. We're also preparing a great collaborative album with Salvo. SnooP Ra: Oh, you've put together a really great team and it looks like a really good album is coming. So, does Roof Records recruit people from outside of Antalya? Inzibat: Thank you. Our doors are open to everyone, of course. We've also had collaborative projects with solid friends from outside Antalya at Roof Records, and we'll be sharing those with you soon. SnooP Ra: You owned two parties on December 9-10, are there any more parties like that coming soon? Military Police: I don't deal with organizational matters much anymore; I don't have much time. But I will always support my reliable friends. Also, thanks to my friends who constantly invite me from various cities, I try to attend other organizations as much as I can. SnooP RA: Happy New Year, Gendarmerie, and finally, let's hear what you have to say about the assassination.de family on this holiday. Inzibat: Thank you, and I wish you and all the members a happy holiday and a happy new year. Thank you for giving me this opportunity. You are the oldest Turkish rap site, and I have been following you for years. I will always support your site; please never compromise your strong and unbiased stance. Best of luck. Inzibat ft. Salvo-20-07 (Song from Assassination.De)
