Assassination.de: Hi Azat, the first few questions are usually boring, but let me ask you something. Can we get to know you a little bit?

Azat: I've been involved with rap since 1989, I produce 90% of my own instrumentals. I prepare my work at POEM PRODUCTIONS. I live my life in Ankara, in a place that's impossible to ignore.

Suikast.de: How is your work with Sihir going? Rap fans are eagerly awaiting your officially released album.

Azat: Sihir and I are preparing at the same intense pace... This project started 3 years ago and is now at its breaking point... Soon everyone will see the happy ending...

Assassination.de: Female MCs are slowly starting to emerge; are there any people you're considering working with?

Azat: I already have some key names I work with, but there are many more to add to that list... We're always looking for better, so our doors are open to female MCs.

Suikast.de: We heard you've received many offers for the album; which company would you like to work with?

Azat: We've made a preliminary agreement with the company we want to work with... Unfortunately, it wouldn't be appropriate for me to reveal the company's name before the album is released.

Assassination.de: Who are you working with for the album? Will there be any surprises?

Azat: Wherever I am, there are always new things happening... You'll see what bombshells we're going to drop on you... Everything is going well right now... Germany and Ankara are working on this album... Keep your eyes on Hanedan...

Suikast.de: We've heard you've worked with many MCs. Do you have any plans to compile them into an album? A compilation album for Ankara or for all of Türkiye…?

Azat: Why not? I'm always up for a compilation album for Ankara... But I think that will take a little more time... I've already contributed 3 tracks to 2 compilation albums for the whole of Turkey... They'll be released soon, and you can enjoy listening to them.

Assassination.de: You're working with rappers like ISYAN and Maddkave from Germany, what are your plans for the future? And you're working with many more people, like Chase and L Kaos from America, NG (Angie) from Argentina, DJ Sweat from London, Collona Records from Austria, Will B... From what we can see, you're truly a Dynasty World Wide... How did you connect with so many people? What benefits have they brought you, for your album and your rap?

Azat: My first goal is Hanedan World Wide... Then solo projects... Actually, all my connections are interconnected... I first met Chase, and then through Chase, I opened up to the whole world... Don't be surprised if Ankara becomes America soon... We exchange ideas musically... We do collaborations occasionally... but a cappella collaborations don't really sit well with me...

Assassination.de: We know Azat has a very wide reach. What are your advertising and print media collaborations with them?

Azat: We create jingles for advertising companies. What started as a hobby has now become a significant source of income. We also maintain contact with the print media. Hanedan's philosophy is to do quality work. We could have simply done a basic piece and discarded it, but we persevered. There are similar reasons why Turkish rap is currently struggling. Our goal was to work with a well-promoted, high-quality company. We achieved that goal. Now, it's time for other targets.

Suikast.de: What are your thoughts on rap in Ankara and the state of rap in Türkiye?

Azat: Ankara's star will shine brightly soon... As for Turkey, they remind me of mosquitoes in a very slippery market... Everyone wants to make rap by sucking someone else's blood... My friends and I are against that... Let them focus on filling their pockets; we'll focus on making rap.

Assassination.de: The Oscars are being discussed, rap fans are thinking... but how successful can a competition be for the spread of Turkish rap if some MCs don't participate?

Azat: Turkish rap isn't just made up of a few people... But the cards are dealt on stage, so I don't think it's very objective... Everyone who looks at the awards thinks it belongs to someone, maybe they just wanted to satisfy themselves... Everyone carries the truth in their own head... You have to laugh it off about these things...

Suikast.de: People have started dividing themselves into East and West, what do you think is the reason for this? There has been a division in Anatolian rap. What benefits or harms do you think such situations would have for Turkey?

Azat: I think Anatolia will be divided into pieces soon... It's a strategic game, if you only knew what cunning people there are... They'll do anything for their own benefit... If the world is so messed up, are we going to be too? It will ruin us... For now, let the children continue to have fun...

Suikast.de: Why are there more MCs coming out of Istanbul? We think there are more successful rappers in Anatolia, but we don't hear their names like those in Istanbul.

Azat: There are no opportunities in Anatolia; the heart of music is Istanbul. If you want to do something good, do one thing, produce the highest quality. Then your reputation will follow you. Your voice will be heard in Istanbul and in America.

Suikast.de: Turkish rap is starting to appear in music videos, even though it doesn't get much media attention. Are you planning to shoot a music video for it?

Azat: Of course... A project this big wouldn't be complete without a music video. We have a sponsor ready for the music video project; they've covered all the expenses. I'm currently working on the script.

Assassination.de: To what do you attribute this attitude of the media?

Azat: The media cares about money; there's no free work these days. The reason previous videos didn't reach a wider audience was because they didn't show the necessary sensitivity. At least with a sponsor's help, they could have had a bigger impact. They didn't think of it, but we did, and you'll see the results.

Suikast.de: What are your thoughts on MCs who collaborate on tracks and then diss each other?

Azat: Are we going to talk about spineless people now? That's against our customs and traditions. There's no such thing as treachery in our traditions. I don't go back on my word. I've worked with many people before. When it came to parting ways, I neither spoke ill of them nor insulted their mothers or sisters. Treachery is for treachery!

Suikast.de: If you received a diss track like this, how would you react?

Azat: It depends on the person, actually... Everyone who thinks they're rapping tries to get attention with diss tracks first... I'll teach a lesson to anyone who crosses my nerves.

Assassination.de: What advice would you give to friends who are new to rap?

Azat: Youth... Record lots of rap, let your freestyle shine on the go... The more you produce, the more you'll improve... Don't take everyone seriously, listen to those who are sincere... Distinguish between right and wrong so that your path is always clear...
