I was born on April 29, 1982 in Regensburg, Germany. Because my parents worked, I mostly stayed with a babysitter until I was 5 years old. And when I arrived, it was a little difficult for me to adapt to not speaking Turkish at all...

Because I was thin, I always wore baggy clothes. So, since childhood, rap was in our essence, and when we came to our senses, I first started rapping with Mc Hammer… (98)

In high school, two of us started making music and rapping: Yigit (bow) and me. We finished the album C&C; dea, but due to financial difficulties, the album flopped… Then, at a party, I got a reaction saying I was Dr. Fuchs' brother. This reaction fueled me even more, and my current bandmate Naci (Darbe) joined me, and that's how URA was formed…

Why Rap?

Although I got accepted to university, I didn't attend. I think it's ridiculous to tie a person's life to exams. I condemn those who talk a lot after university, and those who try to make rap music without listening to or understanding it, simply because they think it's "the music that best suits our purposes." I've been making rap music since I was young, both because it best describes me and because it has had a great influence on my environment. I've lived it and internalized it, without any financial gain in mind.

Talk about the album

The album title is TRUTHS, and as you can tell from the intro, we've prepared a freestyle intro... Also, I gifted my brother a track while he was in the army, "Safagı Bitmez Komando" (The Dawn Never Ends Commando). It's slow, hard-core, underground rap, but it's not very popular. We're planning one music video. Sirhot has a feature on this track, "SBK".

What are your projects?

We've just started working on a solo album with Sagopa. I'll also be doing live backing vocals at all of Sagopa's concerts. The first date is March 27th, everyone will see us. Of course, with someone as prolific as Sagopa, there's plenty of work to be done, one of which is a compilation album.

What do you mean by compilation?
Bands will send me their demos. I will be the one to choose them. The important thing is that they reflect their own style and haven't been featured on a licensed album before... Your first market research?

Digital Mix 1 had a feature track called "Hate" here and it really got a lot of attention... then
In 2003, Sirhot and I finished an album every three months, coinciding with the coup, but it didn't come out because Sir went to the army. Hopefully, it will be released on Hammer when he returns…

Why isn't your name very well-known in the market?

:))) This is the first time one of my interviews has been published… I've received many offers before, but we didn't accept them, we didn't trust them… Actually, we were very active and did a lot of work, but we preferred to stay underground… For example, here are some of the important activities we did:

Since 2000, we've organized parties every February as URA, and the attendance was always high; they were the best parties in Türkiye. However, because we didn't have an album, nobody mentioned it, but everyone knows what's what. We want respect in the underground; nobody should forget where they came from…

We tried to perform at almost every UG party in Istanbul. We also tried to support other cities as much as we could, and we succeeded... But the Ankara audience impressed me the most; a respectful and honest crowd...

I was with the Dawg Family and we won first place in the mic control competition. But the promises weren't kept. We prepared 5 tracks for the Barikat group in the studio (T&T; ) Tolga Aksoy. The winner of the competition was promised an album, but it wasn't made, and a space for 5 tracks was supposed to be reserved for a compilation, but there's still no news.
XXL was there when we won the competition last year. It was going to be a project like "CLAN," based on a pool system with international connections, which they would produce themselves...it was going to be, but...

There will be a festival in Taksim on April 23rd. XXL, me, and Funky C will be performing for 3 hours. Details are not yet finalized, but one thing is certain: everyone who comes will get their fill of rap...

Most likely, we'll be making the album that Mista Brown will release in Turkey together...it will be a great album, I'll do the Turkish verses and Bora will do the English verses, we'll prepare an amazing album....

Does Sagopa have a feature song, "Karabiber Duası," on his album?

When I first heard the song, Sago was singing it and he asked me if I wanted to sing along, and I said I'd give it a try. We reflected all our ambitions in that song, and when it was over, Sago really liked the lyrics and we realized we were on the same wavelength. In our understanding, you have to write your own rap, and for that, I think rap is about feeling. I'm sure there are people who feel that ambition and pain with me. The world keeps turning, whether anyone likes it or not…

Did you receive any musical training?

I know all musical styles; I received 3 years of classical piano training... I have a very good ear for music... I can play any rhythm I hear on the keyboard...

Who do you like in rap?

Turkish: Hate, Sagopa pessimist style (yeah), Bektas, Hard Muslims (Recai), Islamic force, enemy, Mista Brown
Foreign rap: 2pac, dmx, crisscross, IAM, NTM, Lord Co-city, wutang, sod, dr dre, ice cube, ice t, jedi, public enemy, nas, etc. French rap is all great….

Are you also interested in dance or graffiti?

In '97, Ramiz, myself, and I formed a graffiti group called Free Dark Boys. We created 9 graffiti pieces in 3 days, even though there weren't any tags anywhere... Around the same time, I was also involved with buggies; we usually did buggy dances with friends in Zeytinburnu and Ataköy 9th District.

What do you think the future of Turkish rap will be like?

People have become two-faced. Turkish rap will progress, but it's necessary to understand the regional concept of rap with honest, clean people. This is Turkey, and Turkish-language rap has a lot to say. Rap is regional... don't forget, every break is 5 minutes!!!
