SND – Your style came across as very different to people, you use a lot of unique words in your lyrics. What do you think about when you're writing your lyrics, how do they develop?

SAHTIYAN – That's a great question, can I have it again? 🙂

I just put down whatever comes to mind at the moment; I don't make a special effort to write lyrics. I don't strain myself like some people do 🙂

What does SND – Sahtiyan mean?

SAHTIYAN – In the Ottoman Empire, items like vests and shoes were made for the sultans from Sahtiyan leather; these were special items, as the name itself suggests an expensive, hard-to-find, special type of tanned leather. 🙂

SND – Can you talk about Kuvvetmira and your connection to it?

SAHTIYAN – Kuvvetmira is the rap family that makes the best and highest quality rap in Turkey. They live and feel rap, making it without competing with anyone, without being jealous of anyone, only competing with themselves and striving to surpass themselves. I am a member of this family. Sometimes we lock ourselves in our studio, listen to records, get hyped up, and try to do better than them. We live, sleep, and stay up all night at Kuvvetmira, and of course, we rap. Not everyone can get in here; it's not something you can achieve by just talking. Most importantly, here, the pen speaks.

SND – What are your future projects?

SAHTIYAN – We have many projects. Right now, I'm preparing an EP with Mic Check as a solo artist. Of course, I don't know what direction this solo career will take in the future; maybe I'll form a group with a very successful rapper someday, but I'll still prepare my album with Kuvvetmira. We have lots of projects. Mic Check's mixtape, Kolera's EP, Mista B-Brown's EP, and more are coming.

Can you talk about SND – EP?

SAHTIYAN – We're currently working on a 7-track EP, producing work that's ten thousand times better than most albums released. With us, everything goes without condoms; we don't use protection, I personally don't. So don't let people fool you with stories. Forget about these AIDS stories; AIDS has nothing to do with rap. Of course, this topic has nothing to do with the EP either, but I wanted to mention it anyway.

SND – Recently, many people have been harassing and insulting Kuvvetmira. What do you think about the people who are insulting Kuvvetmira?

SAHTIYAN – What? A man? I don't see any men around here.

SND – Why do you rap?

SAHTIYAN – For respect.

SND – Who are your favorite rappers?

SAHTİYAN – Slug, Sage Francis (babaaaaaaaaa), Dose One, Nigga Fish, Aesop Rock, The Lost Children f Babylon (babaaaaaaaaa)

SND – Who would you most like to work with?

SAHTIYAN – Mic check :) I already work with mic check. If there wasn't a mic, I would prefer to work with a stoupe.

How would you describe SND – Mic check?

SAHTIYAN – A pure-hearted, well-rounded rap artist who works his ass off for rap. You'll understand the value of Mic Check in three years. Just keep developing your rap culture. Just make sure it's not too late when you understand, and remember, "If there's one person in the world who gets along well with everyone, know that they're the biggest asshole." You can't expect anyone to get along well with everyone. Mic Check doesn't want you to expect that, that's the point.
